About Ulaanbaatar

Ulaanbaatar is Mongolia’s primary urban center, concentrating about two-fifths of the country’s population.

Its location on the Tuul River anchors the city within a landscape shaped by harsh winters and short summers.

The city has the best transportation links in Mongolia, including the Trans-Mongolian Railway connecting to industrial towns like Darkhan and Erdenet, alongside international flights operated by Hunnu Air. Agricultural production nearby is limited to a single annual crop, mostly spring wheat, influencing local markets and cuisine.
